Dr. Fong confirmed that the best next step in my possible "cure" (love that word) is to perform surgery ASAP to remove the tumor, half the pancreas, spleen and adjacent lymp nodes.
So I am scheduled for surgery at City of Hope on June 9. Only a 3hour surgery. Not the more difficult Whipple procedure as my tumor is clear of critical arteries and is not in the head of the pancreas.

The surgery starts with a laparoscopic look inside and as long as they don't see any new evidence of cancer having spread they go directly into removal of the tumor et al. Dr. Fong says it's about 90% probability of completing surgery on that day. Otherwise, it's Chemo first then surgery later.
